Club Statement June 2020 | Dear Parent Very soon there will be a gradual return to on-field non-contact GAA activity provided the government timelines being achieved in the weeks and months ahead. In expectation of that happening, we would like to say a massive thank you to our entire community for everything you have done to keep loved ones safe in the exceptional situation of a global pandemic. We particularly commend all our frontline workers across the HSE, care sector and voluntary sector for the role you all played. Special thanks also to our coaching co-ordinators who provided several coaching webinars to keep our players active and engaged during the lockdown. Over the coming weeks the club will be preparing for the return to play. Things will have changed since the lockdown started in March but we are keeping health measures to the forefront of everything we do. New practices will be in place around drop off and collection of children, no sharing of personal equipment such as water bottles, having smaller groups with the same coaches/mentors and equipment assigned to each group. Players, parent/guardian and backroom personnel will need to complete the self-administered standard risk assessment health questionnaire including temperature checks and complete Gaelic Games online education module before participation. Coaches will be familiar with all the necessary steps and there will be designated Covid Officers within the club at every level. Details will follow soon in line with guidelines from the HSE Executive and GAA. But in the meantime, the club facilities including the walkway will remain closed. The club has also applied to host a Cul Camp for the week commencing Monday 17 August. If Cul Camp summer camps proceed, children should limit their involvement to one camp. We will keep everyone well updated as things happen. Keep an eye on our various Social Media channels – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and website. Finally, while everyone is welcome in the spirit of Kilkerley Emmets GFC, we would stress that there is no pressure on anyone to return. Participation is voluntary; players, mentors, referees and club officers may choose to opt-in or opt-out from an activity at any level at their discretion.
Kind regards Is Mise Aidan Cawley Runai Emmiti Chill Choirle
